GENERAL

The CC770-L Linear Transducer is used as a position feedback device where absolute measurement of screwdown position is required. The top hat configuration couples the linear sensor directly to the mill screw eliminating backlash and gearing errors inherent in a screwdown mechanical system.

The CC770-L Linear Transducer utilizes the latest magnetostrictive technology for precise linear absolute measurement. A number of outputs are available including DC and serial transmission. Mechanical Limit switches are available for extreme upper and lower positions and intermediate positions also. Cylinder construction is very robust to provide extended up time in the mill environment.

APPLICATIONS

The CC770-L Linear Transducer is designed for use as a positioning feedback device in mill duty environments. Among its features are:

1. Absolute Measurement - Retains exact position throughout a power shutdown.

2. Eliminates gearing errors in the mechanical system.

3. Long-line Transmissions capability - 1000 feet and greater.

4. Resolution - Down to 2 microns (0.00008in.)

5. Update Frequency - Up to 10,000 measurements/sec.

6. Linearity - 0.02%
